Location: Bodmin, Devon
Snashall Steel was assigned the responsibility to draw, fabricate and erect the Home Bargains extension in Bodmin, Cornwall.
The project was familiar to us as an initial phase was also produced by Snashall Steel for BAM with a total project value of £2.2m.
The extension work involved a hipped roof over the new retail unit with a lean-to roof that backs onto the existing phase to create a seamless transition.
Close collaboration with both architectural and engineering consultants was required to obtain continuation from the existing to the new building.
A large number of connections were required between our new frame and the exiting with built-in tolerance to allow for the various site conditions.
Snashall Steel not only were required to provide the main extension, but also, an independent storage unit and a new signage totum steel frame.
