Project: Slough Leisure Centre

Client: Morgan Sindall

Tonnage: 430 Tonnes

Location: Slough

Snashall Steel Fabrications was appointed to draw, fabricate & erect this multi-purpose building at Slough for Morgan Sindall.

This Leisure Centre encompassed a huge 115-station gym, 8-lane swimming pool, 4 court sports hall, 3 studios, 2 spa rooms and a café.

In addition to the large number of cellular Westoks, 3 fully 3D trusses had to be supplied to span the swimming pool with a great deal of attention on the final aesthetics.

Precast concrete seats had to be accurately placed on the poolside steelwork and a large number of roof lights that featured rod bracing also needed supplying.

While work continued on the main frame, a substantial amount of secondary steelwork was introduced that was also of an architecturally sensitive nature.

The whole project incorporated various floor types that had to be accounted for including traditional precast concrete slabs, steel decking and omnia deck.
